On my treasure hunt I came across the work of Charles Leadbeater, a leading management thinker. He is has just published a book with the title "We Think". I haven't read it (you can download the first three chapters from his website). But I have seen an animated video on YouTube which gives a nice flavour of Charles' ideas, which basically respond to the theses of Michael Zimmer in First Monday that I have described yesterday. The Internet, and Web 2.0 are not instruments for mass consumerism, they are tools for mass collaboration and mass innovation. "In the past, you were what you owned. In the future, you are what you share."
