Blog - Great Resource: Videos on The Art of Hosting

In the last months, I frequently meet people who are skilled in The Art of Hosting. I didn't know much about this approach except that it is related to The World Café. So, what you do nowadays if you want to know more - you search in the Internet (there were times when we didn't have the WWW, were there?). Besides the main homepage of the community, I found the website of the Art of Hosting TV, which has hours and hours of video material on the Art of Hosting and related fields, such as Evolutionary Leadership and Presencing. For example - an introduction into the principles of the Art of Hosting (35 minutes): Makes me curious. What I learn is that the Art of Hosting is less a methodology but a set of skills which you need to facilitate World Café, Open Space workshops etc. It is obviously what Harrison Owen, the discoverer of Open Space Technology, has described as "Providing and holding space and time," and what Marvin Weisbord and Sandra Janoff have coined so wonderfully in the title of their last book: Don't Just Do Something, Stand There! It feels like that I should organize a training course on the Art of Hosting for our facilitators in 2009.
