Welcome to our Forum.  The forum is open to all registered users, to share, discuss and collaborate with each other.

To take part in a discussion, select a category.  Select the desired discussion thread that you would like to take part in.  Click on the "Reply" button.  Enter your response in the text box, and click on the "Update" link found at the bottom of the page.

Cannot find the "New Thread" link or the "Reply" button?  Please make sure that you are registered and logged in.

Phased Change or Big Bang Change  (N/A)
So what do you think works best...?  Phasing a number of changes so as not to overwhelm (with the risk of dragging out the process) or planning all changes so that they are over and done with as soon as possible (and getting back to normality sooner rather than later).

Dear Katrina,

I fear there is no one answer to your question  - like always in Change Management. You have basically described the risks of both approaches. At the end, I believe on what the procss demands: If there is a need for the Big Bang (because the organization is in a deep crisis, because the company needs to entirely reorient, etc.), you might go for the big change. But do your homework first. What is really required? Can we initiate a big change by implementing small steps? What about the changeability? How is the need for change felt on different levels of the organization? Have a look at Ralph Stacey's certainty/agreement matrix.
