Some Change Management resources  (N/A)
Greetings all,

I'm new to the site so I'm not sure of the culture here. So let me know if I'm violating any
unwritten rules. I'm a Keynote Speaker, workshop facilitator and writer. I've been working in
the CM space for about a quarter of a century. My work has landed me in some 37 (and counting)
countries with no sign of slowing down anytime some.

As a way of introducing myself I'll offer two items... a tiny article and then a larger resource of my work

When great changes occur in history,
When great principles are involved,
As a rule the majority are wrong.
The minority are right.
Eugene Victor Debs

Seek the definition of “Great Change” and the above is what you'll find.

Galileo knew this. To change the orbit of Heaven, he shifted mass perception, transformed everyone’s view of the world and battled established institutions. Was there any other way? More to the point? Should the power to shift, literally, Heaven and Earth, be accessible by every Tom, Dick and Galileo?

Change makers are always the minority. If they are not, then the work has already been done, the Change is complete. To attempt Change is to attempt to shift the established, the entrenched, and the incumbent. The audacity to Change is what powers the Hero Cycle - and the Tragic Tale.

Setting out to Change the world, or our small corner of it, has consequences. Proving the majority ‘wrong’ is risky business. For obvious reasons, it’s not the road to winning friends, even though you will certainly influence a lot of people.

Careful though... While it is true that once the great change takes place, it is possible to claim, with 20/20 hindsight, the minority was right all along... being in the minority doesn't make you right from the start.

Nor is it true that the majority appreciates the triumphant efforts of the shifter. "No good deed goes unpunished!" is a common phrase for a reason.

Every time a Change fails... The Majority was ‘right’ and the Minority was ‘wrong’ -- this time.

Re: Some Change Management resources  (N/A)

Hi Peter

As a collaborator in the Change Management Toolbook site and an occasional poster to this forum, I'd like to say welcome! I guess the unwritten rules of this forum really just relate to common decency and respect for others, so no worries!

I enjoyed your contribution and I'll be investigating your links.
