At Change Facilitation, we believe that any change project is a journey. You might know the destination of your journey but you will need to find your own path to success. My global team is ready to accompany you and to give you all support that you need to navigate through unchartered waters. We are passionate about complex change projects and together with you we will co-create a tailor-made solution for your change process; we will help to bring in your project in time and on budget and we will make sure that important stakeholders will buy in and collaborate. What can we do for you today?(Holger Nauheimer, CEO)

Being client centered, all partners of Change Facilitation are dedicated to find the best approach that responds to your needs in complex change projects. We do believe that every change project is different and that there are no blueprints to apply. By honoring diversity we are able to develop the appropriate intervention that is suited for your very specific situation. That might be an on-the-spot advice, a series of focused interventions or a long and continuous engagement at your side – depending on your requirements.

This is what makes us special:
• We facilitate, train, coach and consult, applying the highest professional standards of our craft.
• Because we are diverse and we are global, we have a full toolbox at our disposal (find some of our tools at The Change Management Toolbook, the most comprehensive web resource on change management) and we honor cultural differences.
• We see change as a dynamic process enabled through personal growth, team development and organizational change.
• We are: sparring partners, coaches, trainers, facilitators, experts, listeners, sometimes wizards, interim change managers – depending on your requirements.
• Our All-In-One service starts with a detailed and systemic analysis of your situation, and continues with the design of an appropriate communication campaign. We convene your critical internal and external stakeholders to get their buy-in and to co-create a smooth implementation strategy.
• Being experts in whole systems change we facilitate small and large workshops that are produce tangible outcomes.
• Virtual facilitation tools and web based collaboration strategies are an integral part of our process designs. We are Web 2.0 specialists and we are fascinated by the potential of new social media for increased collaboration.
• We train people in all essential skills that are required to master change.
• Whether you just want to start implementing change or whether you are stuck in the middle of the process, we can help you to take the next step.
• Some of the projects we typically deal with:
o establishing a culture of change in organizations

ChangeAbility

ChangeAbility is a South African training company that specialises in providing training in the field of organisational change management. Our mission is to provide you with knowledge that will enable you to deliver better change.

Eight years experience in helping to deliver large and complex change initiatives within organisations have taught us that the importance and complexity of dealing with change effectively and sustainably are often misunderstood or underestimated.

The application of fancy looking methodology or complex methods does not guarantee success in dealing with change. Being an effective change agent or leader requires a thorough understanding (and often even expert knowledge and outstanding ability) in areas such as:
• business processes
• communication
• conflict management
• facilitation
• psychology (specifically the psychology of change)
• project management for change managers
• qualitative and quantitative methods
• training
• the practical “nuts and bolts” of change consulting
• whole systems change.

We offer public and in-house training courses. All our public courses are available as in-house course options with the added benefit that courses can be adapted to your requirements.

Our 2009 schedule of public courses follow below:

John Kotter's Leading bold change
ChangeAbility has the exclusive rights to facilitate and deliver Professor John Kotter’s LEADING BOLD CHANGE interventions in South Africa in association with iSB World Wide.

In John Kotter’s latest book, A Sense of Urgency (2008), he estimates that today more than 70 percent of needed change either fails to be launched, even though some people clearly see the need, fails to be completed, even though some people exhaust themselves trying, or finishes over budget, late, and with initial aspirations unmet. Research has also shown that in most cases the cause of this failure is not due to technical execution but because of a lack of attention to the leadership behaviours required to effectively deploy and sustain change.

The “Leading Bold Change” programme enables participants to lead change successfully using the 8-step change model developed by world renowned change expert John Kotter. In particular it focuses on the leadership challenge of change and how leaders can win the hearts and minds of those who will be the targets of change.

Permaculture is a particularly useful metaphor in change management and KM and many organisations are starting to use permaculture principles to teach design and sustainability. Permaculture concerns itself with the use of ecology as the basis for designing integrated systems of food production, housing, appropriate technology, and community development.

Permaculture is built upon an ethic of caring for the earth and interacting with the environment in mutually beneficial ways. It seeks to design sustainable human habitats by observing and following the patterns of nature. Permaculture encourages holistic thinking which means that we consider all aspects of a system (irrespective of how seemingly insignificant they are) and how they interrelate with each other. In addition, permaculture encourages use to think about the consequences of any intervention.

In very broad summary, Permaculture teaches an appreciation for design that:

  • uses available materials and resources to ensure maximum productivity and the minimum amount of energy expenditure
  • recognises the environment as a complex set of living relationships
  • emulate natural processes thus promoting sustainability
  • encourages diversity in plant and animal species
  • considers the consequences of actions by projecting into the future
Our specialist publishing company Ubuhibi Media offers The Permaculture Training Manual on http://www.ubuhibi.com/?q=permaculture that provides a useful resource for gardening and change management training
